TimRikeripv6-sandbox server starts up, but netcat to ports does not do anything. Is that expected at this point? In my repo I have it doing hexdumps of input back to the client.16:57
blast007yeah, that's all it does17:00
blast007I don't have it accepting connections yet17:00
TimRikerI plan to add -i <addr> support on my sandbox, but right now you have to change that in the source. works listening on :: or 0.0.0.0 in the source and if on :: accepts both ipv4 and ipv6 clients on both tcp and udp. hexdumps back whatever is sent to it.17:01

TimRikerideally we should do RDNS on incoming connections and cache the sockaddr for tcp, udp, as well as rdns and probably the text representations of at least the tcp connections. Then send the text versions to admin clients, perhaps the rdns entries too.17:03
TimRikerI run hexchat here with user source display on. (~)user@(name|rdns|mask)17:04
TimRikerlist server sends groups, we could send rank info from phpbb and display that. so many options.17:05
blast007I want less integration with phpBB, not more17:05
TimRikerIt does offer a lot of user/group administration that we'd have to duplicate someplace else. and duplicate the admin interfaces, and ongoing effort to mirror needed group/userrights/etc.17:14
blast007aside from the normal built-in groups, there is only one group that would be used on the forums17:20

TimRikerphpBB has some group management stuff. Unfortunately no good built in way of cleaning up unused groups. People can find groups, and request to join, owners can handle those requests or make them open, as they choose. That's not all I'd like, but it's better than nothing. 10 years of adding groups has led us to almost 1500 groups, which is not a Good Thing. If we could easily expire old groups, by contacting the owners when they are 23:31
TimRikernot in use for, say 90 days, and if they don't renew the groups, delete them.23:31
